Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Help – I have disappeared at OLCI!

Ok this has never happened before.
Just tried to check in for our GCM-LHR tomorrow. OH and son are still showing in their pre-selected PE seats. I have disappeared altogether from the cabin! None of us can get boarding passes.
I can only think I’ve been up or downgraded but I thought it was unlikely that they would split up a family travelling together to do this?
Note – we are on a 241 booking so should I anticipate down rather than up 🤷‍♀️😬 (though I am Silver so would that redress the balance at all?)

    Have you tried calling CS?

I would have to use Skype and the WiFi here drops out frequently. Chat apparently finishes at 10 pm.
From past experience it’s unlikely that any BA staff will be in evidence at the airport much before 2 hours prior to departure.

So according to Twitter I have been selected for document verification. I have never heard of this happening at GCM and it doesn’t explain why I have disappeared from the seat map!
OH was joking that I’m being racially profiled, but in all seriousness I am the only one on our booking with a non-English surname and we have observed Asian pax being quite aggressively questioned at the airport, notably a Filipino couple in front of us at customs on arrival being given the third degree while we were waved straight through.
Anyway, if they’re expecting a Filipina they’re going to be very surprised when a blue-eyed Mancunian presents herself for enhanced security checks!

Morning, @Anna! Was just going to say that OH with his Port. surname sometimes gets this. The “funniest” is travelling through IOM where, being the only person who’s tanned and under 6′ tall, he gets “randomly selected” every time. EVERY time!!

I’ve had this a lot recently from the US. Try editing your Api and then checking in again.

    I will try this, thanks!
I also got the SSSS before our flight to IAD last December. I’m a middle-aged English retired police lady, the only remotely exotic thing about me is my surname from my Spanish dad 😂
It also baffles me that they tell you you’ve been selected way in advance so you can make alternative plans if you actually are up to anything dodgy!

@Anna, just go with the flow. It’s annoying but there’s not a lot you can do about it short of changing your surname which is probably more hassle.

If it keeps happening on US flights, apply for a Redress number.

4 flights since I got mine and no issues since then, fingers cross for the next one to MCO

Well that was an anti-climax. Went to the check in desk, gave the ground agent our 3 passports, she pulled a face at the computer, printed our 6 boarding passes and handed them over!

I’ve been stressing all day that I was on a no-fly list or suspected by BA of allowing people access to my garden in return for avios flights 😂😂😂

Thanks @davefl, no US flights for the next year or so, we are on a break!

And relax, these things were sent to try us. Safe flight home.

@Anna an anti-climax is so much better than tge alternative. Hope you have a good flight home with no turbulence.

Sounds like you’ve got a calmer journey ahead of you than @Cat.

Thanks – yes we should be out of here in the next couple of hours!
