Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Hotel not on BA Holidays

  • 20 posts

I’m looking to book a family holiday to NYC. We want to stay at a hotel we’ve previously used (16 years ago – has been renamed and refurbished since then). It’s not part of a chain.

The hotel doesn’t appear to be available via BA Holidays – only the larger ones.

The hotel is on Expedia, and I could book the BA flights and hotels through them – and save a bit on booking them separately.

Any advice? Other than losing out on additional Avios and tier points, and getting a worse customer service if things go wrong – what would be the implications of booking through Expedia?

Is the hotel offering anything if you book direct through their website?

No – it’s actually more expensive.

I can save £200 by booking the hotel through Hotels.com – but a further £200 by booking both hotel and flights through Expedia.

If you book with Expedia or Hotels.com make sure to use a cash back site

I’d avoid booking flights via an online travel agency. It the savings are really significant, then maybe. Otherwise, in case of schedule changes or other issues, it’ll be a massive pain having to deal with them.

    Yeah – that’s also a concern….

I may try phoning BA Holidays to see if they can book hotels which don’t come up on their website.
