Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Household Account, who can book reward flights?

  • 12 posts

I’m a head of a household account with my partner as a member, she was added to the account in Jan. My question is are each of us able to make our own reward bookings with vouchers using the pooled Avios or can the head of household only do it? I have a Companion Voucher that I’m planning to use in March, and she has a Barclaycard Upgrade Voucher that she wants to use in October. Each of us will be on the others booking, I’ve just seen conflicting information online about who can redeem flights in the account.

    Many thanks for any info.

Any member of an HHA can book flights using the pooled Avios.

A voucher can only be redeemed by the account which owns it, but still using the pooled Avios and booking for both people.

Any member of the household account can make bookings on their account and use all of the pooled Avios. If you have a voucher, Barclays or Amex it either needs to be used from that account (although in the case of Barclays, the voucher holder doesn’t need to be a traveller) or you can give someone third party authority to use them. You set that up in your account online and that person needs their own password for this specific purpose.
