-
I have a situation where I need to change the name on a United Airlines ticket. My friend, who was initially planning to travel, can no longer make it, and I want to take their place. However, the ticket is under their name. Has anyone here gone through a similar experience with United Airlines? How did you manage to change the name on the ticket? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Airlines have different policies and it will depend on whether the ticket is a no-changes no-refunds type or more flexible. You’ll need to check the Ts and Cs on the booking to be absolutely sure and/or speak to UA.
First of all check the ticket restrictions carefully.
The more flexible the ticket, the more likely there’ll be the option to change name. But be mindful the more flexible the ticket, the more likely your friend would simply have taken a refund rather than try to sell it on.
