    I cancelled as booking made using Avios and an AMEX 241 voucher online on Tuesday night – the Avios are not showing back in my account yet (nor the refund onto my card but TBH the Avios are the priority at the moment as I want to rebook).

    The info given on the webpage, and then the email i got, didnt give any time for refunds so I am wondering what people’s experience has been with get refunds.

    If you cancel by phone it is instant. I can only imagine that your refund may be in a queue for a human to look at. Calling may fix the issue.

    (It is also possible there is an IT issue – it is VERY common for BA to not send Avios or cash refunds through after a cancellation. If you call the agent will usually blame the previous agent for inputting the request wrongly.)

    I was 3 days before I got my avios returned to my account after cancelling on line this week…still no email from ba about a refund of any costs!!

    Just to follow up on this for anyone else who comes in to ask the same question. I have just called and it could be up to 2 weeks for the refund when you cancel online. The guy on the phone sorted it for me, miles and voucher back in my account now and refund on its way.
