How to activate Apple TV+ etc

I think I managed it. Don’t bother trying from the webpage, I found a section in the app and clicked it and voila!
The thing is I don’t remember how I found the link in the Barclays app. If I could find it, everyone else can, too 🙂

I can’t find it anywhere in the app. And the website won’t recognise my card details…

I was able to activate it using the link from the email from Barclays (received way before the card arrived, so needed to dig back a way). Takes you straight to a page on the Barclaycard website where, after logging in, you can activate each of the Apple services.

Tried a few days ago but got an error message after entering my details.

Today it worked and I got to the next page. Was able to activate Apple TV+, but get an error message when clicking Apple News+ (“Sorry, something’s gone wrong. Please try again later.”)

I couldn’t activate News+ but I already receive that as another benefit through my mobile contract. I wonder if it detects that you already have an offer active and doesn’t let you add Barclays as an additional one

I don’t have Apple News+. I didn’t even get as far as signing in with my Apple ID.

Agent said it is a known issue, some features are not yet available. Will be notified by SMS or email when available.

Ditto. Music and arcade worked fine but error message on news+. Hope they sort soon

Yes, but not through their link (which seemed to have a bug). My workaround was to go into the app, click on “Find out more” under “Products and Services” (which is a short scroll down on the main page) then click on the Barclaycard logo and then choose the Apple offer.

For those struggling, are you Apple users? I’m an Android guy, but did already have an AppleID. Despite signing in on a PC, after clicking on activate the offer, it would ask me to sign in, then just have a spinning icon on a black screen. HOWEVER, I decided to try downloading the Apple Music app onto my (Android) phone. When setting this up, it identified I’d never used my AppleID in the iTunes store. Following this, back to the PC and I was able to activate the AppleTV offer. (I had one more glitch where it wouldn’t recognise the code, but this can be found at the end of the URL)

Hope this wasnt a fluke and it helps someone else too!

Both Apple TV and Music now working. Not able to make use of Arcade or News without an iOS device.

Managed to get the Apple TV+ subscription despite having had one from my iPhone a while back, which was a nice surprise!
