I need to earn 140 tier points before departing and returning from London by early August. I would like to do it as efficiently as possible while spending no more than £600. Most 80-point CE options seem more expensive, or the timings do not align with my calendar.
Do you have any bright ideas? Or will I just have to spank cash on a Sofia return…
LHR-HEL fits the bill I think, good availability in July on Finnair.
Have you looked at Tirana? We’ve been looking at August but think there were some cheapish flights in July too.
£600 should cover a couple of returns to DUB or BHD, achievable in a day trip without the overnight cost. LUX is also available for sub £150 each way on various dates.
Book a U.K. BAH with 5 nights car hire (though August might be expensive, admittedly)?
So, e.g., LHR-GLA return for 160 (double) TPs, get the cheapest car, which you can pick up and drop off at any eligible location between the flight dates.
If doing that I’d use the car to get home from wherever you’ve flown to and back for the return flight (which could be a different airport, subject to car hire terms). Probably easier than separating the car activities from traveling home and back.
You can select different pick up and drop off points during the booking process.
I prefer to make an actual holiday out of it, but I do have the luxury of time these days. For the last 400 or so I need to get to gold this year I’m doing a bit of a fly-drive to Scotland via London with a long weekend at the lovely Kimpton Blythswood Square thrown in for good measure!
