Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Is there a workaround for the constant error when booking reward flights

  • 23 posts

In the past 7 days, I have been searching reward flights on their page and constantly getting the error “ There was a problem with your request, please try again later.”.

For constantly I mean 50% of the searches ended up with this error message.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Are you using a VPN?

That’s seems to cause all sorts of problems according to other reports.

And I assume you’ve done the usual clear cookies / app updates / browser updates ?

Sometimes an over eager ad blocker is to blame

I have no adblocker or VPN and had the same issue constantly, but bizarrely only when searching eastern routes. EU and USA no problem… search further East and it fails.

To get it to work I had to leave my home wifi and use my phone signal… but as I had no signal in the house this meant driving for 2 mins and parking up to browse flights! A VPN *may* have helped, but I didn’t explore that.

What also worked was hotspotting from my partner phone (a different network which had good signal).

All in all a ridiculous error which seemingly rejects you, and then keeps rejecting you, based on ‘where’ your request is coming from… but only on certain routes!

Apple private relay will cause this if using Safari.
