Has anyone had any issues in recent days in trying to book the AMB. wk’end rate, the link seems to be dead.
DP – Just renewed my Ambassador membership and my Diamond Elite status has extended to 31/12/2024 and not end 2023 as I had expected – bonus! (previously it was due to expire this month, 31/12/2022). The 20,000 points offer if staying 2 nights before end of January 2023 was also triggered still (at least it is now showing in my profile).

Not sure been answered before. What determines the extension to Dec 24 vs Dec 23 as some posters reported?
I am really stuck for thought. My diamond Elite expires in feb 2023, however i wouldnt mind getting ambassador to extend my IHG status till 2024 but sounds like its mostly a lottery and randomly allocating 2024 status for folk.

It doesn’t seem random. Those who bought or extended AMB earlier this year got diamond until Dec 2023. Now that we are in Dec, looks like the system has extended it to Dec 2024.

@AnotherUser Does your new Ambassador membership only run until an end date in 2023? I renewed membership this month and my current Ambassador status was expiring in March 23 so the extension now runs to March 24. My Diamond Elite status that had been due to expire 31/12/22 was then extended to 31/12/24, suggesting that it is linked to the end of the calendar year in which your Ambassador membership expires. If this is the case then it means that new members can only get a 1 year extension whereas renewing ones may get two if they they do it early enough and where their Ambassador year end falls in Jan/Feb/Mar of the following year (you can renew up to 92 days before your Ambassador membership expires).Just checking before I pull the trigger please, if I join Ambassador using points, will it extend my diamond status or will only joining using cash do it?

The ambassador cert expires 01/02/24, so based on what you are saying, if I renew ambassador before the end of 2023 you think it would pick up the 01/02/24 date and renew Diamond potentially to end of 2025? That would be handy if so…
As an aside I didn’t get the 20k bonus points offer if staying by end of jan, even though the email I received stated that was part of the offer…

Just checked my account and it states Diamond will expire on 01/01/2023. So if I sign up for Ambassador I hope it will extend until end 2024 if the comments above are correct.

Link hasn’t appeared for me so I called the Ambassador line who confirm that my 92 days is today however they can’t renew as the renew button is greyed out on the IHG system. Think it’s a case of wait and see if IT timeclock rolls over today (sometime US Time) and see if link appears or call back in again tomorrow.

Link finally appeared and renewed through to end December 2024.
Keen to take out Ambassador on 1 Jan so to capitalise on the renewal date being every January. I am currently in New Zealand so is the date calculated on local or US time as I do not want to trigger too early.
Just renewed Ambassador tonight, exactly 92 days before my April 1st anniversary.
Was offered 40,000 points or $200 (with 15,000 points credit for renewal)
Went for the dollars, and Diamond Elite now expires 31 Dec 2024 – two years from now!!!!!!
This ‘feature’ will go away soon now that LL is shouting from the rooftops.
