Forums Other Destination advice London City Airport hotels?

Flying out of London City Airport for the first time and have an early morning flight.

Looking to stay at a hotel the night before to make life easier – any particular recommendations? I can see a few surrounding the airport on Booking.com, but some seem to be the other side of the water there – are they all walkable?

There is Travelodge and a courtyeard very close.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the others being across the dock.

Ive stayed at the Crowne Plaza and it’s a couple of minutes walk to the nearest DLR – Royal Albert – then one stop to Canning Town then a cross platform train to Woolwich Arsenal. LCY is about 2 or 4 stops.

Stay at the Courtyard. No brainer – high quality, very close (walkable). We have reviewed if you search.

Stayed several times before early morning flights and would fully agree. Unless the pricess is silly its a very easy choice!

By the time you’ve done that, you might as well have just walked it to London City. It’s barely 20 minutes from Excel on foot.

The Travelodge has super rooms, a bus stop outside and can be cheap.
There’s a new Ibis at Canning town which is very convenient for the DLR.
