I have am looking to book a return flight from London to Dubai using my avios.
The specific dates and times are outbound: 11/11/2024 21:35 and return 19/11/2024 13:35. We are a family of 3 and the outbound flight is available at the time wanted however the return flight is only available at 10:00.
There is only 1 reward flight available at 13:35.
Is there likely to be reward availability for the return 13:35 between now and November? and would it be worth booking the current available return (10:00) and changing to 13:35 at a later date? in other words from experience are there likely to be extra reward flights released for the 13:35
Unfortunately we are not flexible on the date or times, however the cost saving using avios is significant.
Any advice much appreciated!
Book it.
This is peak season. There is a good chance that nothing else opens up, but if you end up on the 10.00 then it won’t kill you 🙂 Paying cash in peak season might.
If you subscribe to SeatSpy you can set an alert for that day so you are notified if anything else opens up.
BA may also add extra Dubai flights for the peak season, which would give you another possibility.
As per @Rob, next time book as soon as the seats are released!
Unfortunately with Avios redemptions you have to be flexible unless you commit to book at release T-355 days.
No one knows if seats will or won’t open up but the guaranteed seats have gone so you’re hoping for someone to cancel their Avios booking or BA wanting to push some inventory in peak season unlikely but not impossible.
