Hi all which option should i chose? i have another companion due next year in feb 24 which will be valid for 2 years however i wont have much avios left after booking the current companion i will be booking to fly out and return in Jan 24
wondering if i should hold on to more avios and pay more?
180,000 Avios + £ 900.00
152,000 Avios + £ 1,360.00
28,000 will cost me £460 so if i have worked it correctly 1 avios= 0.016p?
currently my household Avios: 377,242
While you could pay £460 for 28,000 Avios, depending on your monthly spend it’s not necessarily a huge amount of Avios. If I’ve read your post correctly, I reckon over the two years of voucher validity you could deploy a combination of SUBs / offers / referrals / Avios shopping & Avios boosting (remembering the stricter Amex requirements & October cutoff for pro rata refunds).
I think that’s 1.6p per avios, so BA’s standard selling rate when there’s no offer on. You can do a lot better.

thanks for the info ill just use the avios i have then
Sign up bonus
ahh right i already have amex BA PP i dont think i can get another amex sign up bonus (correct me if i am wrong) i already have a barclay card avios as well however i am not using that after the SUBs for that card
You can add a supplementary card for free to your BAPP for a very easy 3000 Avios (and while you’re there, get MR points for your other supplementary card if you have any other Amex cards) or could you refer someone? Are you using BA E-Store and Nectar offers too? Just thinking of some easy ways to try and “recoup” your extra pinch.

spending the 10k a year not an issue im nearly up to that just holding off until renewal as i dont want another companion ticket right now.
I have tried to use the BA store ive had mixed feelings some of the time doesnt track i think i will persevere with it. yes i have nectar currently £100 worth sitting in there i tried to refer someone they think the amex companion is too much hassle, lol

Be careful, if you’re saying what I think you are, your spend so far will reset at the renewal date so you need to make that last bit of spend up to £10k just before.
