Completed my SAS Eurobonus account status match from my BA Silver account and now tried to use the link in the story to match my SAS Euronbonus account(Gold) to the Lufthansa matching service but I received instant notification that is wasn’t going to be accepted as my Eurobonus gold status hadn’t been gained through flight history?
Anybody else had this issue?Lufty has changed the rules – not surprising, since we did 3000 SAS matches last Friday alone.
If you have zero activity AND a high membership number you’re not getting matched.
If you’ve had your SAS account for years (low number) you will be matched, as I was.
If you credit a Star Alliance flight to your SAS account in the next month and try again, it MAY be accepted.
Well, this is annoying… I have a SAS Eurobonus account that goes back maybe 10 years or so. I never used it. It’s linked to my old address in Copenhagen. I went into the app to change to my current address in the UK. It wanted to send a confirmation code to my phone number – a Danish number I no longer have. I chose to send to my email instead. I get an error message, repeatedly. Eventually I get angry and request a deletion of the account. I set up a new one instead. Now I read here that I won’t be status matched from BA Silver if the account is new. 🤯 The old account is still active, so might I be able to call SAS tomorrow and ask for the deletion of the old account to be stopped? After all, I only deleted it because their app wouldn’t let me change my details. I have my first Lufthansa flight in November (long-haul) and was really excited to become a top-tier member beforehand. Do not crush my dreams!
I must have been very lucky. For some unknown reason SAS matched my BA Bronze to EuroBonus Gold, which I then used to successfully match to Miles and More Gold! I’ve had my SAS account for a long time, but have only credited one flight recently.
So I got SAS Gold through this match with BA Silver, are you saying this is effectively worthless if not accepted by Lufthansa?

Well you will get the gold equivalent level with Flying Blue when the transfer completes. I don’t think there’s much to complain about – LH clearly realised they had set themselves up to be properly mugged off at the end of this daisy chain.
Not complaining about it, just a pity if it doesn’t have the longevity expected. If it’s only until end of August that’s not much good.

The HFP article says you get status until 31 March 2025. However I got until November 2025 for whatever reason.

I just checked and my Gold SAS status seems to expire in Sept 2026, WOW!

My status is also to Sep 26. BUT this is based on making some qualifying flights I believe. To quote SAS EB:
Keep your new level in EuroBonus for extended time:
Your EuroBonus account, if eligible for status match, will be upgraded to either Silver or Gold until 31 March 2025. To keep your new level longer (your current qualification period + your full next qualification period), meet the qualification below:Flight qualification (From July 02 2024 forward):
Silver: Minimum 2 flown SAS flights until 31st of March 2025
Gold: Minimum 5 flown SAS flights until 31st of March 2025
