Miss first leg of flight

I want to use my companion voucher to fly to Chile. I noticed that it is cheaper to fly from Madrid. The flight stops at Heathrow on the both outward and return journeys. Would BA allow me to miss the first and last leg of the journey (Madrid- Heathrow / Heathrow – Madrid as it would save about £300

You definitely can’t miss the first leg of you do the rest of the ticket will be cancelled.

Are you sure it’s not 2 different flights, one on BA from LHR and one on IB from MAD?

Most of the price difference will be APD departing the UK.
You can book MAD-SCL-MAD-LHR with IB to save the APD, and get your luggage checked through, if you actually need to get back to the UK.
If you are originally travelling from the UK you will then need a separate ticket to MAD. Safest to book this for the day before your long haul as your connection won’t be protected.
Do not skip the first leg of a multi-leg booking. As per @BAFlyer above this will result in your entire ticket being cancelled.

The way it’s described they have booked MAD-LHR-SCL, SCL-LHR-MAD so the Op want’s to miss both the start and the end legs – ironic as they have probably paid more Avios and TFC’s for this routing.

I assume OP hasn’t booked yet because they say they could save £300 with a different routing. Reading the post again it does indeed sound as though they are considering MAD-LHR-SCL which is unlikely to be the best idea.
The straight answer to the question asked remains a hard no, you can’t miss the first leg of a booking.

I’d be looking for MAD-SCL direct on IB and make your own way there. As everyone has said, booking a MAD to SCL via LHR and hopping on at LHR won’t work.
