Hi. I had an Amex Gold last year and committed the cardinal sin of failing to hit the spending target – I simply got my dates wrong. I cancelled after 11 months (circa June/July 2023) to avoid the second year charge and am now curious whether I remain eligible for a new sign up bonus having not claimed it or whether the standard 24 month rule still applies?
I suspect I may be in a minority of one here and no one else has been as stupid as to miss the target but I’d welcome any advice on whether I’d still be eligible.

24 mth rule applies. It’s based on when you last held a MR-earning card, irrespective of whether you received a sign-up bonus.
