Multiple Partner Redemptions

Hi,

I am currently stocking up my Account for next year and looking for some inspiration.

I heard somewhere that it can be done to cheaply book multiple partner redemptions on same booking via the contact centre to be in business class, but pay economy avios amounts.

From what i understand some of the requirements are as follows:

– Longest segment is in economy.
– Flights have to go in the most direct way possible.
– Maximum of 8 segments.

Any experiences around this and also possible routes which may come to mind?

We would be interested in going to South America and are open to add other destinations as well. I would then just play around to see what dates might work for availability.

The economy pricing is covered in the linked article at the bottom of that and says:

In theory you need to have every segment in the same class as just one in a higher class will reprice the entire itinerary. However, some people have reportedly had agents charge based on the longest class flown, ie if 60% is economy and 40% First then they were charged economy!
