I seem to have received a mystery bonus of 10K Avios on my BAPP card. It credited on 26 September and the description is just “10,000 Avios bonus”.
Obviously that’s a lovely surprise, but I’m consumed by curiosity about where it came from. Does anyone remember an offer it might have been? It’s definitely not a sign-up bonus (I’ve had the card for ages) or a referral bonus (I haven’t referred anyone)… and although I did negotiate a 10K retention bonus earlier in the year, that already appeared several months ago. I don’t seem to have had a “You used your X offer” email relating to it either.
I read this post last week and thought nothing of it at the time.
But I’m a little shocked to find that I also have a 10k avios bonus showing on my BAPP, which hasn’t moved across yet.
Naturally I’m not concerned, just curious… and somewhat cheerful 😜
Same here. OH last month too!
Recall this happening a few years back on HSBC cards and it was subsequently clawed back.
Hopefully these stick but no promotion I’m aware of.
So far mine have stuck but still unsure where they came from.

2500 points will be for spending £5k on the Gold card
I have today had this mystery 10k Avios too, landed in my BAEC account on the same day as my normal monthly earned Avios, but as a separate transaction.
Not complaining, but curious!
I’ve got 2000 bonus avios credited seperately with my usual spending in BAEC account. I am using BA Amex free card 🙂
Sad face 🙁 I only got 1300, no idea what for. says BA Avios Offer, Black BA amex. still, better than nothing!
1300 was for spend £xxxx get 1300 additional avios

That meant it was paid to you. Check Avios app.
This is definitely the gift that keeps on giving.
