Obv easy way is two short haul economy returns. Think have to spread over two days. Any trick to reliably this in one day?
LHR based
Is there a way to book 4 legs on one ticket so that connections are protected?
MAN-LHR
LHR-SOMEWHERE ELSE
SOMEWHERE ELSE-LHR
LHR-MAN4 Segments. All can be booked on one ticket.
Thanks but I would need to get to MAN. Assume no short haul routes with an interim stop starting from London.
Can be BA code, so maybe something involving Aer Lingus / Aer Lingus regional? Loganair I don’t think carries BA codes
So, reverse the trip.
LHR-MAN
MAN-LHRetc
LHR-JER-LGW-JER-LHR.
LHR-AMS-LCY-AMS-LHR.
LHR-MAD-LON-MAD-LHR.
LHR-BCN-MAD-BCN-LHR.
IB marketed and operated sectors also count, so you could do something connecting in MAD.
4 domestic sectors should be straightforward but maybe not cheap at short notice. GLA and NCL (and probably EDI) are much more pleasant options than MAN! Also you have a couple of LGW and LCY options with those, I think.
BHD & DUB can be reasonably cheap at short notice, especially for the very early or late flights, and could offer multiple trips in one day.
Don’t involve MAN in this as I can see it not ending well!
You really need to do this to/from airports where in and out bound passengers mix so you can get off, wait around and then re board again without having to go to security or passport control. These would be airports like Newcastle, Edinburgh and Amsterdam. There is a whole thread on flyertalk about easy doing immediate turnarounds.
Also you really can’t do a back to back at LHR, LGW or LCY as there is no guarantee the plane you arrive on operates the next flight back to your turnaround point (or that you can complete ground processes quickly enough)
But done over 2 days it would be feasible (though still avoid MAN if possible!) OP could even look at a BAH with one night in a hotel. On my gold run last year I stayed at the DT NCL which is a great hotel which added next to nothing to the overall BAH price.
I also did LGW-GLA-LHR-MAN at the end of one trip, over a couple of days to catch up with a relative in Glasgow. The HI at GLA is pretty good for a HI, and the airport (complete with dedicated BA lounge!) a pleasure.
Since IB can be used. Why not LHR-MAD-Somewhere-MAD-LHR ? You can use ITA Matrix to force using MAD as a connection.
IB domestic flights are very cheap. Presumably just need to make sure they are actually on IB and not, e.g. Air Nostrum (not sure if IB Express counts?)
So, maybe LHR-MAD-AGP-VLC-LHR?
I’m assuming here that flights booked on the Iberia site count, as cash prices are lower than if you go via ba.com, IME.
We should probably enjoy planning this status run while we still can …

.
Yes it would be feasable over two days example (using AMS as an example)
Day 1
Ticket 1 – LON – AMS
Ticket 2 – AMS – LONDay 2
Ticket 2 – LON – AMS
Ticket 1 – AMS – LONNo need to worry about MCTs with buying the tickets which can be an issue for same day turnarounds.
This all adds So many questions including why can’t BA specify the rules more Clearly!.

What rules aren’t clear to you?
Is IB Express allowed? Is a BA ticket allowed in IB metal? What about BA/Vueing?
I fear that trying to do on one ticket will fall foul on some minor technicality.
I noted these issues. Definitely not Vueling. There are plenty of Spanish routes plus IB domestic options with all BA and/or IB mainline routes.
*A dummy booking on the IB app shows whether it’s IB/IB Express/Air Nostrum/Vueling/whatever.
