Hi,

I am unable to make referrals. I assume this is because I am a new card holder. If so how long do I need to wait until I have the ability to make referrals. Also do you know if I can refer someone who lives at the same address?

The referral link should appear in your card account in a couple of days. No problem with the same address.

@ransomz0 Please disregard above “advice” – referring someone at same address will not get you banned. As for how long you need to wait I don’t know, but hopefully someone will be along with more accurate advice as my first Amex referral was only after holding a BAPP for a few months

I thought you could immediately refer people if the link was available in the app. My cousin referred his retired dad back in Jan, and although he was accepted, it says he is unavailable to access the referral programme (my uncle, that is).

Quite annoying for my cousin as he has now reached the 90k referral limit for 2025, and was planning to use his dad’s referral link to earn more points (which would be added to their BAEC HHA).
