Sounds like they’ve been given space elsewhere to build a first class lounge … once it opens in 2025 the current lounge will be renamed business class lounge.
Good news for oneworld frequent travellers and BA T3 travellers
But does that mean the current service offering in the current lounge will decline when that happens? No more A-la-carte as this will presumably be just for first class?
Excellent! A good reason to keep the Gold card going. And hopefully that will mean they will serve champagne as they do in their other First class lounges rather than the Australian sparkling they serve in the Heathrow lounge now.
Uh-oh.
For sure, means a degradation for anyone either not Gold or not flying in First.
The Business Class Lounge in Sydney was very poor compared to the much-promoted and excellent (if not overcrowded and best at lunch or dinner time) experience of the Qantas First Class lounge.
I preferred to eat in the terminal at SYD than in the Qantas Business Class Lounge.

I wonder what they will do with the restaurant space? Just a seating area I presume? Unless BA keep their holidays offer running through 24, I won’t be able to hit gold again in 25
I suppose they could be just moving rather than aplitting to two lounges?

Article is clear two different lounges. Unlike Cathay for example.
First will have direct access to plane so clearly it’s somewhere else.
And they’ve clearly done a deal with HAL to not only get the lounge space (I guess on the roof somewhere) but also a designated gate for their flights.
But 2025 is a long way off and surely it’s too soon to be talking about any “enhancements” to the current lounge!
And the service windows for the restaurant are quite limited anyway.

I just like to think ahead as no doubt they’ve got solid ideas/plans on what they’re going to do!
