oneworld Ruby status benefits on Qatar Airways

Good morning, I hope this is the right place to ask for advice.

My daughter is flying to Brisbane from LHR via Doha next week. She has gold status via American Airlines which gives her ruby one world status. Her flight is booked via BA using household Avios. She has only blue BA status. She would like to be able to reserve seats 7 days ahead (a ruby benefit) but via a DM on twitter Qatar have said no because she has insufficient BA status.

I may have misunderstood but I thought early seat selection applied to avios flights as long as you have one world ruby status.

BA lets a Bronze / Ruby reserve 7 days ahead, but only on its own flights.

You also can’t use the lounge in Doha that Qatar Airways has set up for its own Ruby-equivalent members.
