Hi All,

Looking to use my BA 2-4-1 voucher next year October and would like to go to cape town and somewhere else but not sure on where. any ideas on where to go using a BA voucher? would like to spend a week in each location. i’m travelling solo and i will be celebrating my 31st birthday.

Brazil? If you trust South African Airways they fly from Cape Town to Sao Paolo, you could then return from there or Rio to UK on BA.

Isn’t the distance a bit of a problem for the companion voucher?

@Aston100 might be but my guess is it’s fine unless I need to retake Geography – I don’t, it’s comfortably ok by about 30% so back to school for you not me 🙂

OT: more discussion on the 90k Qatar redemption in bits article. Were you seeing 90k only in July and August?

I probably do need a geography refresher.
Feels like Brazil is so much further away than South Africa which feels like it’s just down the road, keep flying south.

And yes, I was only checking English school summer holidays dates, so late July and all of August.

It’s 96k to Indonesia. I’m sure it was 80k previously (Jakarta and Denpasar).

You’ll be limited by the jaw section having to be shorter than the distance of the shorter of the two flights.

On the last article Rob wrote about open jaws some one posted a link to a site that gave distances if you put the routing in

As you’re using a 2-4-1 you’ll be limited to BA, IB and EI destinations for the flight home which will restrict your options

@Aston, thanks for update.

@flights. Your challenge became a little harder, your only comfortable options are likely Africa and Middle East. I haven’t checked but my feeling is India will not work but it’s maybe close. Another option might be Sri Lanka if you were happy to divert to Maldives to pick up homeward BA flight, or Maldives itself if you just wanted to relax.
