In Sydney I have tried Pier One, the Sheraton and the Four Points. All were decent. Pier One gave me the Opera Suite as Ambassador, the Sheraton gave me a massive corner terrace suite (their lounge is great but can be busy). The Four Points gave me a giant chocolate Easter bunny when I stayed this Easter.

In Brisbane the Westin is very nice – modern rooms and decent lounge offering. Location also good. They gave me their top Premium Renewal Suite for four nights as Ambassador.

In Melbourne, the W is almost brand new and pretty decent. I stayed during the tennis and there were no upgrades available (I used points too). Couple of niggles with service but overall very good. The Element in Richmond is usually very cheap relatively and treats elites well. I used a FNC there and was happy. It’s also a lovely part of town and it’s easy to get the tram into the CBD. I’m currently living in Melbourne and I would highly recommend spending plenty of time here.

    Hi Harry

Thanks for the info . For Sydney we’re are torn betweeen the W and Pier One , not sure which one is better for location value for money etc standard rooms at the W seem to look better than pier one (just Incase I don’t get any upgrade)

Brisbane , we were thinking the westin so it’s good to hear you mentioned it.

We are staying in Melbourne during tennis week . The W we are edging too . Is it in a good location compared to the Le meridien (our other choice) ? Did u get breakfast complimentary due to elite status at the W

    Thanks again
