Has anyone actually had to use this, how good is it really? I am weighing up signing up for this card, and one of the benefits is the insurance, allowing me to cancel my NFU Mutual policy. However, NFU are good to deal with, and I’m loath to change if the Amex offering is actually not great to use?
@tontoro – I believe Amex is changing from using Axa to Europ Assistance to administer their Plat policies in the coming months so any current views (which are generally mixed) may not be relevant. Whatever, you are unlikely to find the NFU no quibble and talking to a human at Axa or EA but obviously you need to look at the respective policy covers.
Hi,
I have been a cardmember for nearly 40 years and platinum for about 15 and recently had to make my first claim on the car insurance that comes with platinum card as a result of leaving the car in a car park to come back to a large scratch, I was charged over £300 from the rental company charged to my crd.
After submitting my claim to amex the matter was resolved in less than three weeks easily and speedily.
I could not fault it.
Good luck with your choice.
