I’ve had luck with the Toasttab method on a US restaurant earlier this month. I couldn’t guarantee it’ll work for every restaurant, but it did for me.

Thanks for your reply Alex_A – can you confirm if it was the restaurant hinted at on page 1 of this thread (What’s the opposite of black?)

    Many thanks.

Nope. Different restaurant. Different city. 🙂

I made a transaction yesterday at one of the TosatTab restaurants and received an email today confirming that I had used the offer.
However, the charge hasn’t appeared on my account yet. Foreign transactions usually take a couple of days to show up.

My experience is limited to two uses, but on the first it showed up within 2 days, and the second took about a week.

For comparison, I’m currently waiting on a domestic dining credit to post, which is now at 10 days, but the T&Cs allow for up to 30.

    Thanks for assurance.
Haven’t used Amex for overseas spend for a while (except such offer that too was about 18 months ago).

Do these toastab gift cards have any expiry on them. Might be tempted to try but no plans for America at the moment although I did see a new orleans one that I wouldn’t mind trying.

In my experience if an expiry date isn’t given, then there is no expiry.

Did 2 x Toasttab for NYC: one cleared (with the credit) the same night, the
other (on Player 2’s card) cleared 5 minutes ago, having been purchased
    on Sat. evening (weekend issues?).

FYI from T&Cs – I just hope these recent ones all clear before 30/6 and don’t come out of H2 limits.

Maximum amount back is £100 per 6 months of the calendar year: Each redemption period resets on 1 July and 1 January until the offer end date of 31 December 2026. You cannot carry any unused offer value from one redemption period into the next. If you spend on the last day of a redemption period, your transaction may not get captured within that redemption period, so it is recommended to redeem at least 1 day earlier in the period.

I guess i got lucky – bought a Toasttab gift card at 8:15pm and received the Amex email confirmation about using the benefit at 10:35 – phew!

I think I missed the cut off for mine. Still not showing up on the app statement.

I had dinner at Marilena, an eligible restaurant in Victoria, BC on Saturday night (29th) and the transaction was time stamped 22:26 on my Google Wallet, which would have been 06:26 BST on Saturday 30th. I wasn’t sure whether the transaction would process and show up on my Amex app in time given the time difference but it was showing by 08:00 today with the transaction dated 29th June and “date processed” as 30th June. Hoping I will be lucky and have the credit applied, although I haven’t received the Amex confirmation email yet, though this can take several days even for UK restaurants. I wouldn’t have left it this late but it was our first opportunity on our trip to use it as there were no participating restaurants in Seattle.

    Sounds like you’ll be ok!
I was also surprised last year that there was no Seattle/Portland offering.

Other way around for me, domestic posted 2 days later, and still waiting on intl. 12 days later.

I don’t suppose you purchased from the Noho restaurant you mentioned on page 2?

I bought a gc from them via Toast on the 27th but still haven’t received a credit. So potentially it’s not ALL Toast tab vendors.

I will let you all know if it turns up but not hopeful as the credits have historically been quick to appear for me.

Yes the one I’m waiting on was indeed that NoHo recommendation!

Hi – does anyone know of a restaurant that you can buy remote gift cards for in Singapore or Australia (Sydney or Perth)?

    Thanks!

Well what do you know, it credited today, 14 days later. Maybe for whatever reason some just take longer than others.

Great to hear Paul! – I’m still waiting on mine – 7 days and counting, so hopefully see it next week.
