I’ve just signed up to the Barclaycard Avios Plus card and it should be with me this week.
Im getting married next year and both the wedding venue and rings will be paid for using Wise, so I wondered if this card will pay the points for such transactions?
does Wise allow you to use a credit card to transfer money?
if so I think barclaycard will recognise it as money transfer, you will not earn points and will be charged a fee + interests
All banks have Wisened up to this trick – if you use a credit card to topup Wise, you are highly likely to be hit with a cash advance fee.
Why not get a curve card?
As @BBbetter says, look into Curve. Or just bag 1% back using Chase.
I am sure I deposited £20 into wise via curve backed by Barclaycard and got charged cash transaction fee.
I think I am missing something (or too jetlagged). Isn’t wise the currency conversion company or is there a different wise? I don’t understand why you are paying with wise, does it offer points?
Does the venue and ring company accept credit card? You are better off paying with your Barclaycard, then pay off your credit card with wise. Isn’t wise just basically an account where you can have many currency pot (or at least that’s what my app looks like). So just pay off your credit card direct with wise, or take the money from wise put it in a normal current account to pay off your Barclaycard.
