Trying to work out how much we would pay with 1 priority pass and 3 adults (this is the 4 complementary passes with the Gold card). I think I read the pass entitles the cardholder and a guest? So does this mean 2 adults are free essentially? If I book No1 Gatwick at £6pp to ensure a space, would we only be looking at paying for the 3rd adult when we arrive?
Doesn’t 4 passes = 4 free visits, whether they are by the main card holder or card holder plus guest/s?
I don’t know, if it does I would be really happy with that as only have one long haul trip planned this year!
Rob did an article when the Amex gold changed were introduced, I think your answer will be in there!

No, it doesn’t work like that for the OP’s situation per the terms which state:- “You will be entitled to four complimentary lounges visits each year you hold a valid Preferred Rewards Gold Card. These may be used by the primary Cardmember, or by the primary Cardmember and one guest.” Some have reported being able to use all four at once and others report not being allowed to use them in this way.
Thank you, that’s how I read it, so presumably fine for me and husband, but will need to pay ‘on the door’ prices for guest?
Be prepared to pay for your guest, but when you arrive initiate the conversation with something like, “Good morning, I’ve pre-booked for 3. Can I scan my priority pass three times please?”. I think you’ll be fine, but just be ready to pay as that is what the Ts&Cs say.
Not fully sure about the Priority Pass /Amex gold set up, however my understanding is that if you hold any sort of PP membership (which the 4 inclusive entries type should be part of), you still use the same membership to enter and will be charged by PP directly on your Amex, or at least this is what I have experienced with the PP from Amex Platinum and the LoungeKey (now PP as well) from my HSBC Premier MCWE card (and also with DragonPass whilst travelling with her/her membership). This is because Priority pass charges a flat £25 fee (used to be £20), whilst on the door prices by the lounge can vary greatly, up to £49 or more in some lounges.
And if this is the case (as expected) probably the 3 entries would be automatically deducted by your 4 totals rather than 2 been deducted and one being charged at £25.
