Puerta Vallerta – what can I do with 7 days?

What is there to do for 7 days in Puerta Vallerta Mexico ?

I may have a car for a week or not.

Beaches, Sunsets, a variety of nightlife, very good restaurants and street food. 7 days may be a bit too long.

High end hotels at Punta Mita.

A car would probably be good and I would head a little north to the Riviera Nayarit as they now call it as PV is big and crowded and the immediate area similarly. Nayarit has lots of good beaches and nice small towns. In terms of things to do, golf is a big thing there, but if that isn’t your thing, there is whale watching (with pretty good prospects) the season for which I think is roughly Christmas to Easter, possibly combined with visiting the Marietas Islands. Also snorkelling/diving and some good surfing beaches. There are several national parks (and San Juan biosphere) for birds, wildlife and plants.

Visiting after Easter and we saw loads of whales from the shore when at Raratonga last September.
