First time poster but have read a lot on here and can’t find anything about this! Rob re-posted an article about purchasing 10k MR rewards for Platinum Card holders and that sometimes not everyone knows this and at AMEX you might need to hang up and try again. I have found the fastest way is actually the chat function – you can do the entire purchase through chat if logged in (iPad/desktop, not mobile app) and any confusion is sorted with screenshots and a short pause. An excellent use of my current Bogotá layover!

What’s the cost?
Did this twice in the past week over chat. First time the guy had no clue and despite claiming he had done it he actually ended up taking some MR points to pay my balance! Tried again on chat yesterday and the person knew exactly what to do and had it done reasonably quickly (had to wait for a supervisor to authorise something at the end which took some time). Cost is 1.5p per point so 10000 MR was £150.
