Qatar Business Flight – Upgrade to Business

Hi,

I have a flight from LHR – HKG in a few weeks, transiting through DOH with Qatar.
First leg is Q Suite, but the second leg is the older business seat and I was hoping to use my Avios to upgrade to First.
The potential issue I have is that I book Business Lite (P). Will that stop me from being able to upgrade at the desk or just in advance?

First Class on Qatar is only on the A380, and I don’t believe they operate the A380 on the HKG route.

This is incorrect. Qatar have a number of ex-Cathay Pacific 777’s which they sell the F cabin as F on. These do run on the HKG route, notably I can see F award seats available on 20/9 HKG-DOH.

Can’t help you with the constraints over upgrades from P class however.

Also you want to upgrade to First so the content of the post doesn’t match the title so it’s probably not going to pique the interest of anyone that’s upgraded to first either.

I stand corrected! Not sure why I thought the ex-CX cabins were only on the Maldives route.
