Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Recommendation when maxed out bonuses on Amex and Barclaycard Avios

My wife and I both have BA Amex Premium Plus Cards and we have both earned the 2-4-1 vouchers, with 3 months to go until our next card anniversary dates in mid/late December. (We made a mistake by not staggering these dates when we first applied years ago).

With expenditure we will be able to put on Amex cards in early 2005 we will be able to hit £15k spend on each to earn the 2-4-1 vouchers next year.

We also both have Barclaycard Avios Plus cards and have both earned the cabin upgrade vouchers with 6 months to go until my card anniversary date and 9 months until my wife’s card anniversary date.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to which credit cards would be best for us to apply for now to earn an Avios bonus over the next few months, before reverting to our BA Amex and Barclaycard Avios Plus cards to earn the vouchers next year. We do not have a small business to use to apply for any of the Business Credit Cards.

    All, and any suggestions, welcome.

Amex Platinum I think might be the only option for bonuses, assuming you don’t have another personal Amex? (aside from the BAPP). If you’re quick, you might even get a pro-rata refund.

    Or HSBC Premier perhaps?

It”s only holding Membership Reward earning cards which affect the Platinum sign-up bonus. If you hold a Nectar or Marriott card then you’re fine.

If you downgrade your Barclaycard you can earn a 2nd voucher if you hit the threshold for the free card.
