Referral bonus for referring to a different card type

Does anyone know what bonus the referrer will earn if someone uses their Amex referral link to apply for a different product? In this case, if a friend uses my Platinum referral link to apply for the Gold card. Is it the same 12k (currently increased to 18k for some) that they would earn for a referral to the Platinum card?

Yes, you get 12k (or 18k) if that’s what your referral is on the Plat, no matter what card they are accepted for. So always use your most valuable card when referring. Im currently getting 12k on my Gold, vs only 9k avios on my BAPP, so always use that, even if the person is going for the BAPP.
