I think it would be a great idea to put our released reward flights on here, so we can pool and book flights. I saw someone kindly added the ones they have cancelled..
I am not sure if this would work, but if I do any I will pop them up for hfp’ers to see if they go back into the pool
I wondered in the past if there was a way BA could run a “redemption swap” feature where people who’d not got the dates they wanted could post and people looking to release stuff could too. I then realised there is nothing in it for BA to do this.
A third party could easily do the IT to arrange swaps, but it would then be down to BA to facilitate reticketibg etc.
I heard there is no guarantee the reward seats would go back into the pool, or if they did it might not be right away.
Years ago, someone on here got my KUL F 241 flights, after l posted our cancellation. Got QR J sale flights instead. It would be a really useful tool.
Tim’s next project maybe????
Well if anyone is looking for LHR-MRS on 9th September at 7:10am in Club Europe to see England vs Argentina in the Rugby World Cup then I’m your frog.
The flight is sold out but they were got at midnight so should pop back into inventory.
SeatSpy picks up any cancellations that go back into the inventory, so if you have an ongoing search you will be notified.
People do quite often post when they’ve cancelled seats on a popular route, probably not if there is plenty of availability on that route/date anyway.
Reposting from yesterday’s chat thread, as I know Miami is often sold out. Thanks @swifty for setting this up:
Just had to cancel a LHR-MIA (BUS) avios booking. If anyone’s looking for some availability, it should pop up for 28th March 2023 with 3 seats (assuming put back into the pool).
Also in case anyone trying to get back from Houston, the same applies, 3 avios seats back to Heathrow on 8th April.
You can do a quick check on SeatSpy to see if the flights have gone back into the inventory, e.g. those seats are not showing as available.
Not showing on ba.com either so they didn’t go back into the inventory or someone grabbed them really quickly!
