Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Reschedule one leg of reward booking

Hi All. I’m looking to book a round-trip using points in the current sale. I might have to eventually change the return leg’s date though.
My question is – if I reschedule one leg later, will they reprice the other leg too and I’ll lose the offer benefit on the entire benefit?
Am I better off booking two separate one-way tickets to avoid that?

I’m afraid I don’t know the answer, but booking it as 2 legs will probably cost you quite a bit more in surcharges.

Yes that’s true. It’s costing extra, hence not ideal.
I believe it could also work for me if they let you cancel only one leg of the booking without repricing the other. In that case, I can cancel one and rebook it. But not sure if that’s a possibility or not.

I suspect they would reprice if booked as a return. I booked a return under a previous 30%sale & this morning, changed return leg date & cabin grade. The whole ticket was recalculated at todays 40% points price. I looked up single return leg & the charges were a lot more if they only repriced that leg.

    Got it. That’s helpful!
Were they giving you the option of cancelling one leg and rebooking it separately though?

No & I didn’t ask as I wanted them to recalc.
