Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Return flight from PMI cancelled

  • 45 posts

I have just received a text stating my flight tomorrow from Palma to LHR is cancelked and I have been booked on a 22.15 flight to LGW. My car is at the Hilton T5 LHR and I am booked in tomorrow night at the Hilton T5 LHR.

Are BA obliged to get me to LHR tomorrow evening? Can I request a different flight.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or info.

You aren’t obliged to accept the proposed rerouting to LGW. Look in MMB while being very careful not accidentally to accept! If there aren’t any other options, if you call BA they may be able to do more, but it’s best for you to check what is available in the right class first. Everyone else from your flight will be chasing the same seats so you need to act quickly but calmly! Once you have selected a rerouting, you can’t change it again for free. BA is required to pay for transportation if they reroute you to the wrong London airport. The rules don’t specify whether the airline has to cover just the cost of public transport, but in practice BA will usually pay a reasonable taxi fare. You may also be eligible for compensation unless BA can claim ‘extraordinary circumstances’.

If they cancelled it within 24hrs of departure then calling in you may be able to get them to put you on either Air Europa or Vueling to Barcelona and then onwards with BA. Otherwise no seats left on anything else direct.

Uber to the Hilton directly and put the receipt into BA , experience is they’ll pay that without question
