Hi,
I am looking to book 4 return tickets in club world. I am hoping to book the outbound 355 days in advance. I have a companion voucher and 2 x barclays upgrade vouchers. It’s not a massively competitive reward flight route.
Can I do this online 355 days before and make 2 bookings – one using the Amex companion and one booking for 2 people using 2 upgrade vouchers? Will it allow me to use 2 upgrade vouchers on the one way ticket and add the return flights when they come available. Or will they only allow me to use one upgrade voucher and then one when I book the return? Or is it best to call exec club to do this?
Thanks
Experiences have varied so far (have a look at the dedicated threads on the upgrade voucher), but your safest bet is to make 3 bookings – 1 with the companion voucher and 1 each with the Barclays. That way you should encounter no issues having the return legs applied, whereas if you make one outbound booking for 2 people, BA may then refuse to let you use the 2nd voucher for the inbound as it may breach the “starting in the UK” term.
*There may be a problem with this plan if you are travelling with young children, however!
**Someone did post recently that they used 2 upgrade vouchers on the same booking, but YMMV as BA IT is not consistent. A call to BA may work, though.
