Hi everyone,
I am trying to book a flight through Virgin Atlantic with Middle East Airlines (part of Skyteam). The system on Virgin Atlantic shows availability for my flights so I went ahead and transferred points from Amex to Virgin. As I was entering my details and payment, the booking doesn’t go through. I get an error message that seat availability has changed. If you search for that flight again, it still appears as available. I know that Middle East Airlines is blocking this as it has been a recurring theme for them to do this (on peak dates at least) but do I have anyway to complain about this? As part of Skyteam, shouldn’t the airlines honour their reward seat availability? Especially considering that I transferred my Amex points to Virgin and they’re stuck there now.
Thanks for your inputs.
Call Virgin. If available they will be able to take payment. This frequently happens with even Air France/KLM where it fails at payment.
Not saying there is availability but CALL THEM!!!
