Routes with cheapest “taxes and fees”

I’m looking for long haul redemption destination ideas which have lower associated fees.
I have accumulated sizeable points balances of avios/Vigin/amex rewards so am not restricted by one particular scheme. I’m happy to mix and match redemption flights to maximise financial value, with a secondary objective of maximising points value.
As an example and maybe to give others some ideas, we (4 of us) recently returned from a trip to the far East where we positioned to Istanbul from lhr on ba business, from there we flew to Hanoi on Singapore business class with a free stopover in Singapore. This was using HSBC points to krisflyer and cost a little over $100 and about 200k points for the 4 of us.
We had return flights from hkg on Virgin Upper class for about £150 for the 4 of us. (we were rebooked onto Cathay after they pulled the route).
Can anyone suggest other routes (airports) that might offer similar value that I could build a trip around?
