I just went to check in online for my flight tomorrow to Lyon in Euro traveller.
I’m allocated a middle seat as am temporarily without status.
I can move my seat to an aisle seat but they want to charge me £17.
Isn’t seat selection free on check in ?
Not in the most basic hand luggage-only booking class.
Oh dear, a new low for me 😬.
I’ve been at least bronze for a long time and I had no idea. I’m two flights away from being Silver so this can be my keeping it real flight!
At least it’s a short flight, @Annie – your ordeal will soon be over 😂
Make sure you go to the loo at least twice, @Annie !
A bit late for this post, but can you not still use the machines at the airport to select a seat for free (providing you don’t download the boarding pass and there’s actually some seats free)?
I have no idea what’s possible. I have the same grade of ticket for 2 days time ( domestic flight ) and it’s just let me choose my seat, no fee and no status.
Anyway, I survived the middle seat and it wasn’t really awful at all. A one hour seven minute flight can never be that bad unless King Kong is in the aisle seat and an overfed serial killer by the window.
I was disappointed not to receive the banana cake that I recall reading about recently. Still 5 pretzels on the Lyon route 😩
