Secondary card holder eligible for own card and bonus?

I am a secondary card holder on my wife’s account. I would like to take out my own card to benefit from the new offer. Will amex accept this or do I need to do anything like cancel the existing card?

No – having a supplementary card doesn’t affect your eligibility to apply for one in your own name.
