We are booked on a BA flight landing into Singapore at 4:05pm [May 1st]
As we couldn’t get business redemption seats for Bangkok we went SIN instead for our dates we need a flight from SIN to Bangkok, we intended to do hand luggage only so we would catch the 6pm Jetstar flight.
But now may sway to a hold bag after all and essentially do full immigration exit and back in to departures.
So my question is for a 7pm flight [With Jetstar] is that plenty of time to get out and back in?
I know we do electronic entry before hand which speeds it up.
Thanx
How much is it going to cost you to rebook the Jetstar flight if the BA flight is delayed, there’s any delays with bags, long queues anywhere etc?
It is plenty of time assuming that your flight isn’t late.
The transfer from T1 to T4 is more of a faff than most at Changi as I believe it involves a bus shuttle. But it is Singapore so the bus will be there etc.
You definitely want a plan B in case your inbound flight is delayed. That stops the stress/panic at the actual time of the event.
Some people would suggest spending the night in Singapore but assuming you will have slept on the plane you should be in a fit enough state to do the final push that evening.
I’d approach it from a slightly different perspective. The flight to Bangkok is 3 hours, so you’d arrive there at 10pm, assuming you are going to a hotel there that’s an optimistic 11pm check in. If you booked a hotel at Changi and took an early flight to Bangkok you will be less stressed if there is a delay and won’t really have lost anything.

Definitely agree with @strickers here. Unless you *have* to be in Bangkok that same day I’d overnight at SIN for sure. Takes the stress out of it and you can find more than enough things to do in the Jewel or at the hotel (like the Crowne Plaza) for a pleasant evening.
I wouldn’t trust BA to deliver you ontime off of the BA11 personally and it’ll be a rush (especially with the slightly faff landside bus transfer to T4)
I’d get into the city – it’s a short cheap cab ride away . Somewhere like the Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay should be inexpensive and you can easily get out for a nice evening stroll and some food to stave off jetlag.
Will be no issue getting a ride back to the airport in the morning for an early flight using the Grab app and 90 mins is more than enough time
Last couple of years have been through SIN a number of times. Had issues with baggage arrival with Singapore Airlines (not BA) due to arrival late afternoon with storm overhead, meaning baggage couldn’t be offloaded immediately. Would definitely overnight in Singapore either at CP, or as mentioned above, get cheap taxi/Grab into City. Clarke Quay good for somewhere to stay, a wander and something to eat.
We stayed at the on airport hotel before flying on to Koh Samui the next day and it was great. No stress. Expensive but would do it again. On our way back we stayed for a couple of nights at The Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay which was just fine.
We arrive in Singapore by cruise ship at 0630, will disembark around 9am and have a flight booked at 3pm. I even feel slightly anxious about that plan!

Don’t worry… the ship will boot you off as early as you like once it clears all the port checks! Very often the cruise line will schedule in a city tour before disgorging you at the airport provided your flight is after midday. ( did this in Santiago /valparsiso and San Diego) happy cruising
Thanx everyone, wish we could have a night in Singapore unfortunately we can’t.
It’s a business trip and need to be out early in the morning in Bangkok.
We were initially landing into KUL but changed it as SIN had more connecting flights.
I guess if we didn’t make it we would have to rebook another flight.
I presume our insurance would cover us in that instance.
Couple of thoughts…
1) If you add a checked bag, that Jetstar flight is going to be almost as expensive as Thai, which comes without the need to schlep over to T4
2) Prices close in on that route don’t seem to change much, so how about you just wait until you are landside in SG then buy the next flight out? That would also give you the flexibility to keep checking incase a better redemption flight from London comes up.
3) Insurance payout is likely to be limited given there would be an excess to pay and the likely low cost of the replacement flights anyway.
