SkyTeam benefits on Virgin Atlantic

Sorry i’m sure its been discussed previously but couldn’t find the thread. Have skyteam elite status through the ITA airways match thats been extended another year

Just wondering what benefits i’d get on Virgin, If I booked an economy basic would that get me free luggage or is it the same as BA where a fare including luggage would get me one extra piece?

Also i know clubhouse access at heathrow is a no go but what about lounge access at johannesburg? Clubhouse or a different lounge?

Would I be allowed to select an exit row seat on the plane for free in economy?

You’ll get one additional bit of hold baggage (but not if you have no luggage to begin with, following the BA route), and should get free seat selection in Economy from the point of booking (except, from memory, in Economy Light).

Economy Light really is targeting the very price conscious. If that’s you, then the trade-off is no choice in many situations. If it’s not, book Economy Classic.
