    If anyone is interested….

Was amazed to walk straight through North fast track only breaking stride to unpack my bag. But wow. The lounge (Club North). Never seen it so busy. Took a call, decided to ask if the South lounge was quieter but then saw a queue of maybe a dozen folk waiting to get into North. Figured I’d just stick with what I had but at least managed to find a chair and a table which is evidently far better than a lot of folk are doing.

Thanks. I had the foresight to bookmark that at the weekend but in a classic schoolboy error – it was on my laptop.

No wait to get into the lounge. Looked after I sat down the second time and it said 4/5. God only knows what it’s like when it’s a 5!

The amazing thing was no wait at all for security. Two bag scanners open, no one at either other than me. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it that quiet.

Looks like we are off to B gates on Wednesday then.

I’m not convinced at the accuracy of that lounge thingy. I assume it’s what feeds the board outside the South lounge. Last Monday it showed 3/5 for Galleries North and they had an agent on the door there sending people away.

Don’t forget that you can’t get the train back to A, you need to walk the peace and quiet of the tunnel 🙂

The whole place was chaos. The ground floor concourse was shoulder to shoulder, queues at every restaurant I passed and also -no surprise – the Aspire lounge.

@davefl The tunnel is one of my favourite parts of T5, a sea of tranquility buried deep beneath the cacophony.

It’s the only part of T5 I like, it’s just a shame I can’t take my wine from 5B lounge down there

We decided to try out the 5B lounge yesterday and it was a good move. Thanks to Rob’s article which shows there is a kid’s room there. We managed to get some time for ourselves before the flight. The walk back to 5A was nice and quiet too. All in all, a good experiences.

I was at the 5B lounge on the 18th and it seemed to be under construction, or a lot of it was cordoned off. Looks like they were doing work in the area where the wine bar was. Maybe changing it / moving it to the A gate lounge(s)?

Didn’t ask questions…the wind in Florence was in the wrong direction again so the guest services desk was inundated with passengers expecting the staff to personally take them to Pisa instead, or have the power of everyone in BA / IATA up to and including Willie Walsh or the ancient Roman Gods to fix the situation
