Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club The Economist retention offer

    Hi Guys,

    The Economist keeps ringing me as I haven’t renewed my subscription.

    Has anyone got a good retention offer from them?

    The best offer from them was 50% off the retail rate (£189 per annum).

    Also got 50% off via chat when trying to cancel

    Third, I also recently renewed at 50% off the full advertised price.

    What I find particularly odd is that this makes the multi-year subscription deals (2-year or 3-year) poor value too.

    Hi, so you got 50% off the £189 digital subscription. That’s very good!

    So I suppose the question here is which is the better deal for you;
    50% off subscription: £189-£94.50 = £94.50
    Avios offer: £189-£60 = £129 + 15,000 Avios
    (Assuming someone else in your household account could sign up for the magazine)
