It’s not based on joing date but 1st flight date.

BA Tier Points reset to zero on the anniversary of the day you joined the Club, but you remain at the same tier status for the next full membership year. So, if you reach a tier early in your membership year you could end up with nearly two years total at that level.
To stay in the same tier after that you must maintain the same number of Tier Points, otherwise, you’ll drop back to the tier below.

Not according to this from website

TPs will still reset to 0 after the anniversary date, but if you’ve earned status that will continue for the next 12 months. This happened to me last year when I took a long haul trip which straddled my reset date.

Your only option is to move your outbound travel to the 9th of August or later if you want those TP points to count for the following membership year.

    This.

The other stuff is about TP year dates. No matter when you join the club, your TP year isn’t established until you first earn TP.

I’ve never read of anyone being able to change their TP year. If you don’t care about lifetime TP and burn through your Avios or transfer them out, you could close existing BAEC account, open a new one and take cheap flight in say April to establish that as your TP year on the new account.

It’s honestly more faff than it’s worth. If you only fly once a year in August what will you lose when the TP reset anyway.

I managed to get my wife’s date changed – but this was several years ago.

I have no idea how I did it, but it must have been early in her membership.

I have constantly read since, that it isn’t possible, but we certainly did it – so it is possible or was.

I expect that this is 15 plus years ago.

But don’t you have the last years return trip to add to the new years outbound trip?

You still have 2 flights each membership year. This nets out?
