Forums Other Destination advice Travel inspiration using BAPP 241

    Morning all,

I’m looking for some inspiration/advice for where to go next summer for a few weeks (July or August as my partner is a teacher) using my BAPP 241.

We’ll have been to SE Asia in Feb so probably not there. We’ll also have a 1 year old in tow so young child friendly would be a bonus.

    TIA

This gets asked a lot and it helps if you tell us a bit more about the kind of places/activities you like! Also the really popular destinations may have been snapped up by now, so you might want to get a SeatSpy subscription which will show you what’s available for your travel dates.

SE Asia likely difficult anyway as those seats will be snapped up. Delhi or Middle East possible but too hot. Outside of short haul the major US hubs possibly your easiest bet for finding availability on long haul.

So we’re fans of cities (or multiple cities in a holiday) mixed in with a bit of adventure (landscapes, forests, historical sites, walking/hiking), less fans of sitting on beaches. Some of our favourite holidays have included Iceland, Slovenia/Italy, travelling around Vietnam.

Good shout on the seatspy sub, thanks.

If you’re happy to go long haul with an infant the US gives you all of those and generally has good availability. Although it’s become rather expensive and has a lot of problems these days it’s decidedly family-friendly and has plenty of accommodation options which would give you the space to spread out with a baby. NYC/PHL/BOS/IAD would give you all the things you mentioned. Out of those I would particularly recommend Washington DC for history and the wider Virginia area for all the other stuff. It can get very hot in the summer though.

    UK regions to Australia.

You can get EDI-SYD out on 11, 13, and 15 July and back on 6, 8, 9, 18 and 19 Aug, for example.

Then flying to EZE or SCL and get to Patagonia could be an option.
