I’m booking 2 Avios seats for family on a single booking. One way flights. It may transpire that the daughter may not take the trip.
Would I be able to cancel just one of the seats and not affect the other? There is limited Avios seats so I would not want to risk cancelling both and rebooking one.
They are mother and 11 year old daughter, so ideally sitting next to each other.
Or just one checks in? Of course, I lose their Avios.
If needed later, you can ask BA to split the booking into 2 separate bookings. You should then be able to cancel one of them, with the usual change/refund fee, but I don’t know the ramifications if the 11-year old daughter is the one that ends up needing to travel on her own.
She can’t travel on her own. but if Mum goes alone then as @Lyn says if you call BA more than 24hrs before departure they’ll split the PNR and refund the daughter minus a £35 fee (or all the cash if less than £35)
They’ll be allocated seats around 72hrs before travel
