Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club UK regional connections with Barclays upgrade voucher

  • 17 posts

Does anyone know if regional UK connections using Avios Barclays upgrade voucher are free? I know they are for the BA 241 voucher as have done before. Reason i ask is that i can see there is plenty of availability for London to New York, but when i put Edinburgh to New York in the BA search, no availability is returned.

So maybe i need to just need book the LHR-JFK flight and either
    – Pay for EDI to LHR as a separate booking
    – or phone BA to get them to add EDI-LHR to existing booking.

Obviously I’d choose the later option if its free and doesn’t require addition payment/avios points.

    Anyone know?

They are free but cannot be booked online. Which is annoying.

It also sounds like you need to get an agent that is familiar with the Barclays vouchers.

You will pay the maximum Avios, minimum “taxes, fees, surcharges” rate.

Do not make the LHR-JFK booking and then call to add on EDI.

Call to book EDI-JFK explaining you are unable to do so online. There will be no additional charge/offline charge in this instance.
