Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Unable to claim BA shopping Avios for Marriott booking

  • 11 posts

    Hi all,

Over the past year I’ve been booking all of my stays with Marriott by using BA shopping, and then getting the Avios for this usually a few months after the stay. 99% of the time this requires me to file a missing avios claim with BA shopping, as either the purchase doesn’t track, or Marriott don’t pay out.

I was wondering if anyone else doing this has noticed you’re now unable to claim the missing avios for Marriott? I made a booking on December 15th, and now when I try to go through the new missing avios page I get this: “Unfortunately you’re unable to make a claim for any missing Avios with this retailer.”

There used to be a live chat you could do it through, but I can’t find this option anywhere anymore. Nor can I find any details to contact them to manually make the claim.

Anyone else having the same experience, or do you know how I would go about contacting them now the live chat has been removed?

I never got the eStore to work for Marriott and gave up on it to be honest!

    Hi Robbie,

I have had this same issue recently, previously I was raising claims for untracked Marriott purchases but then, as you say, the website started reporting they could not be claimed for now, in contradiction to the eStore Marriott T&C’s which have not changed (claims can be made after 35 days).

I have just been raising the claims manually and I have been successful in having my last few added as pending to my purchase history.

    Same for me with booking.com

I had two stays booked at Marriott through the BA portal last year and both had to be claimed manually, on the other end the best price guarantee scheme at Marriott is the best out there and both those stays were matched to international tariffs (both from South America), even though I booked from the UK

Forgot I made this thread, but glad it’s not just me! How are you going about making the claims manually?

    Hi Robbie,

I just email support@gate365.zendesk.com with the same details that the online missing Avios claim form asks for and it instantly generates the same missing transaction claim email with 6 digit reference number.

    Hope that helps.
