I’ve booked a stay next month at the Hotel Indigo in York on points (diamond member). I enquired by email how much it would cost to upgrade the 3 nights to the top room. The reply was that they do upgrade Diamond members but it depends on the availability when we arrive and they’ll make a note on the file that I’ve asked for one.
Clearly they didn’t read the email properly as I was asking about paying cash now to lock in an upgrade. Before I reply and try again, does anyone have any anecdotes of being upgraded on arrival here? Online it seems they are stingy in this regard, hence my wanting to upgrade before hand. Thank you.
If I remember rightly @Rob was a bit scathing about this place. Have a search to find it on HfP. And anecdotally, I have always had at least 1 level (if not 2) upgrade as Diamond, though not stayed at York Indigo.
I think that was the Principle York. I might just see what happens at check-in.
Stayed there last August – it was full so no upgrade at all as far as I could tell.
Poor hotel IMO, not what I was expecting from an Indigo and there’s no car parking at the hotel. There is a car park in what looks like an abandoned building site about 10 mins walk away.
I wouldn’t return.
